Zaeti o zaleti che dir si voglia… certa, certissima è la loro origine veneziana. Chi me li ha fatti conoscere ha precisato che, ormai in laguna, si sfornano copiosi in più di un’occasione, anche non tassativamente festiva. Nonostante ciò, altra certissima certezza, è che sono dolcetti tipicamente carnevaleschi. E la mia era una scommessa quasi persa in partenza, ma alla fine ce l’ho fatta: a Carnevale vince il fritto sicuramente, ma c’è anche dell’altro signori miei (a parte il mitico Migliaccio, ovvio).
Due parole sulla meravigliosa persona a cui devo questa ricetta profumata e che, come dice giustamente lei, sa tremendamente di antico: Elisabetta Tiveron, collega e amica blogger, era lei che, in un mio indimenticabile sabato veneziano, s’è presa il tempo di portarmi in giro per calle e bacari (tipiche locande in cui si spizzica e sorseggia ad oltranza)… e non vi dico il trionfo di risate, chiacchiere e ovviamente di Spritz. Presenti al mini-raduno-di-bloggers-in-laguna anche Terry di Crumpets & co. e Graziella di Di Tv e Tv… giornata delirante e meravigliosa assai (sigh sigh, Precy nostalgica). Mi gongolo nel dolce ricordo e, già che ormai li ho sfornati, ci piazzo accanto pure un paio di questi biscottini che, davvero, fanno tanta amicizia e scaldano decisamente il cuore. Non sono zuccherosissimi (in realtà, in questi di Elisabetta, ci va soltanto il miele), ma sono pienipieni di uvetta… parentesi doverosa: so bene che nel mondo si conta ormai un numero davvero vergognoso di rivoltosi dissenzienti, gente che cancellerebbe uvetta e canditi dalla faccia del terra (siete dei pazzi!)… ma dovesse mai venirvi in mente una sostituzione con delle gocce di ciocolato, così tanto per dire… vi prego, fatelo di nascosto. E sperate che Elisabetta e tutti i veneziani stiano guardando da un’altra parte. ;))
Zaeti veneziani (di Elisabetta Tiveron)
per circa 18 biscotti
150 gr di farina tipo 0
150 gr di farina di mais gialla
2 cucchiai di miele millefiori
50 gr di burro ammorbidito
1/2 cucchiaino di lievito per dolci
1 uovo + 1 tuorlo
1 cucchiaino di semi di finocchio
50 gr di uvetta
zucchero a velo
Preparate una frolla impastando velocemente tutti gli ingredienti (potete anche utilizzare un mixer da cucina, in tal caso aggiungete l’uvetta alla fine). Non serve il riposo in frigorifero perchè si tratta di una versione con il lievito. Staccate pezzettini d’impasto, formate dei rombi arrotondati, eseguite un taglio nel senso della lunghezza, sistemate su di una teglia foderata con carta da forno ed infornate a 160 gradi per 20 minuti circa. Una volta intiepiditi, spolverate generosamente con lo zucchero a velo.

Non è mica detto che quel raduno resti un caso isolato…
quando vuoi siamo disposte a fare il bis (parlo anche per le altre due “sgarruppate”, ma si!!).
